reflection
This design aims to nourish the activity present about the vineyard as well as hosting a new kind of experience for its visitors, connecting the past of the winery with this present design. The calmness of the tasting room encourages serenity and self-reflection. This space also allows you to reflect on the process which occurs at this site. It aims to draw a connection between the beautiful rolling hills in front of you and the crisp wine in your glass. If you allow it to, this space dances with a story from the past. It encourages you to understand the years and years of cultivation it took to perfect the drink in your glass, and you can stand there, in the tasting room, and enjoy the wine right where it happened.
Production line
Since the main idea of the project is to allow visitors to feel immersed in the vineyards, we placed the ultimate point of the wine production (tasting room) in close relationship with the fields and organized the production in a reverse manner.
Cross-section
Starting from the main entrance music artists are performing on a small stage under the tree (1) with people dancing in front of them. Behind the artists is an indoor restaurant (8) that could be transformed into a temporary indoor exhibition. The windows between them can slide in allowing to connect both indoor and outdoor spaces. On the mezzanine floor, above the restaurant is bar, where visitors can observe the surrounding views. The skylight above enriches the space with natural light, at the same time allowing natural ventilation. The production of wine (4,5,6) is made under the ground, allowing the soil to cool down the inside temperature.
